Inlet Beach was once known as Soldiers Beach named after World War II vets who purchased land in this area through a government homestead program. However, the name Inlet Beach was later coined after Phillips Inlet on Lake Powell a rare coastal dune located in the 13 acres of protected land surrounding this quiet beach community. Lake Powell, the largest coastal dune lake in Florida, is the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to spend time fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing among the dunes and bird watching.
