Welcome to Seaside
Known as the birthplace of the New Urbanism architectural design movement, this 80-acre community combines and brings to life color, one-of-a-kind architecture, and coastal charm with styles reflecting Victorian, Neoclassical, Modern, Postmodern, and Deconstructionism.
Seaside is known for its pastel-colored beach houses, iconic whitewashed post office, and architect-designed walkways leading to the sugar-white sand a town so picture-perfect that it served as the backdrop for Jim Carrey’s hit movie, The Truman Show. Time Magazine has even called Seaside “the most astounding design achievement of its era” and Travel & Leisure Magazine has dubbed Seaside the “No. 1 Beach in the World for Families.”
Seaside is a gathering spot where families and friends come together to enjoy local art galleries, shop at boutiques, and enjoy live music, special events, and a weekly farmer’s market in the open-air amphitheater. Fresh, coastal cuisine is on the menu throughout the town center whether you choose to dine in a casual beachfront eatery or at one of the retro food trucks along Airstream Row.
